Terms of service
Collections
All collection addresses and times are highlighted upon ordering and on the order confirmation. Please arrive to collect your order in good time and within the allocated time slot. We cannot guarantee a member or staff will be present outside of those times.
Please inspect your order upon collection and notify us immediately if there is anything wrong with your order, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. Once your order has been collected, Hertford Cake Co holds no responsibility for damages etc.
Deliveries
Our drivers will endeavour to arrive within the stipulated time period. If we run late we will contact you beforehand, on occasion this may happen due to issues out of our control such as traffic.
If you are not present at the address and we are unable to contact you the following may take place:
- Leave your cake in a safe space
- Leave your cake with a neighbour
- Return the cake back to base and await contact to rearrange delivery (another delivery fee will apply).

Looking After Your Cake
Celebration Cakes:
Handle your cake by lifting underneath the box. Please do not use the sides as this will damage your cake.
If transporting your cake, place your cake onto a flat surface (passenger footwell or the vehicle boot recommended). Make sure there are no items that could fall on top of the cake to cause damage. Please store your cake in a fridge until required and do not leave near any heat source or direct sunlight. Prior to cutting bring the cake to room temperature (approx 1 hour) for the best experience. Once cut keep exposed sponge covered with cling film to avoid drying out. Consume within 3-5 days, the fresher the cake is the better it will taste.
Cupcakes:
Handle your cupcakes by lifting the edges of the box. Please do not use the sides as this will cause damage.
If transporting your cupcakes, place your cupcakes onto a flat surface (passenger footwell or the vehicle boot recommended). Make sure there are no items that could fall on top of the cake to cause damage. Do not stack the boxes unless they are secure (max 2 boxes high).
Leave in a cool dry place at room temperature with the lid of the box closed. Do not leave near any heat source or direct sunlight and do not refrigerate. Consume within 1-2 days.
Bakes:
Handle your bakes by lifting underneath the box. Please do not use the sides as this will cause damage.
If transporting your bakes, place your bakes onto a flat surface (passenger footwell or the vehicle boot recommended). Make sure there are no items that could fall on top of the bakes to cause damage.
Brownies - can be kept up to 7 days in the fridge or room at room temperature away from heat sources. For best results, keeping the fridge with the lid closed.
Cookies - can be kept up to 3 days at room temperature away from heat sources.

Please be aware that all our products are made in a kitchen that handle the below Allergens. Therefore, we cannot guarantee they are free from traces of any listed allergen.
